As a flight instructor I don’t have a lot of cash to spend so I need cheap ideas.
I should add this info. I am a Gold Seal CFI so I am not new to this. I used to instruct years ago as a full-time CFI at a flight school. Back in the day I had to turn down students because my schedule was full. I left instructing for other piloting jobs but left flying to pursue other interests. I am getting back into flying because I love to fly not make a pretty penny. Today the costs of fuel is outrageous so rental fees are up. I won’t absorb that cost so sorry to say I won’t offer my services for less than a fresh ink CFI.

I am planning on becoming a pilot. However instead of getting a 4year degree and then going to flight school (to earn additional licensing and flight hours). I was looking for a place where I can accomplish both at a college.degree and earn minimum flight hours required to be hired by a small (regional) airlines. Does Embry-riddle offer this, if not, do any of you know of any other places?

What do you think are the qualifications?

Would you rather have a younger, more beautiful/handsome flight attendant or an older, more experienced one?

Does anyone know if any of the regional or major commercial airlines have loan repayment programs for pilots? I have a strong interest in flying and I’m looking for help in financing flight school, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m looking to go to ATP’s flight school. Would FAFSA help with flight school? I’d love to hear from some pilots who have dealt with this before, however like I said ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My boyfriend just got hired as a flight attendant for Continental airlines. What are their rules about me traveling on a pass (since we are not married but do live together) and his family members? How soon do we get the benefits? After he has been working a while? or immediately? Also, I’ve heard that if you get laid off you still get travel benefits as well, is that true?

If I can fly a Cessna 172 in one flight school why need an additional check out at a different flight school to fly the same type of airplane? Everytime I wanna fly somewhere different I need a check out. It’s too costly and time consuming. Doesn’t it make sense to just have a common or universal check out to satisfy all flight schools?

I was just watching Air Crash Investigation on National Geographic, and I wondered what happens to flight numbers of crashed planes. I’ll use the famous United Airlines Flight 93 as an example. Is this flight number still being used, or does the airline replace it with another flight number?

Thanks

In the route of flight section of a flight plan, what is typically the final point the pilot requests and are there a specific reasons for choosing certain points? Does the pilot file to an initial approach fix of the instrument procedure he hopes to use?
In the route of flight section of a flight plan, what is typically the final point the pilot requests and are there a specific reasons for choosing certain points? Does the pilot file to an initial approach fix of the instrument procedure he hopes to use? Also, this also applies to the first point listed in the “route of flight” block of the flight plan. Assuming there is no DP, would I choose the closest fix in my direction of flight as my first waypoint? Also, assuming I have no GPS (no “direct” capabilities), can an intersection be my first waypoint if I would like radar vectors immediately after takeoff to that intersection? I know these are a lot of questions, but I’d rather just make it one subject.
